The announced transaction is scheduled to close later in the second quarter of 2026.

Alcami, a North Carolina-based CDMO, has entered a definitive agreement to acquire the Netherlands-based contract packaging organization Tjoapack. According to Alcami, this “strategic integration” creates an end-to-end CDMO platform for pharma and biotech.
Patrick Walsh, Chairman and CEO of Alcami, said the transaction expands Alcami’s presence in the global market.
“This acquisition marks our first European expansion, which is an essential element of our investment strategy,” Walsh said. “This increased scale aligns with our growth and expansion in pharmaceutical testing lab services, drug product manufacturing, and pharma storage.”
Tjoapack is a primary and secondary packaging solutions supplier, with services including oral solid dose, sterile injectables, and kitting. As of this acquisition, Tjoapack employs more than 400 workers, supporting more than 40 global commercial markets.
Going forward, Alcami will offer supply chain redundancy and packaging and labeling scale in the U.S., where Tjoapack also operates. But for Tjoapack clients, they will now gain access to Alcami’s comprehensive suite of services. These include pharmaceutical testing labs, sterile and oral solid dose drug product manufacturing, and good manufacturing practice (GMP) storage.
Conversely, in Europe, Alcami will add Qualified Person release and related services. Such services permit customers to expand their global reach from a singular supplier. In the end, a major goal is to deliver medicines worldwide, with minimal supplier hand-offs.
“This transaction represents an important next chapter for Tjoapack,” said Tjoapack CEO Dexter Tjoa. “Partnering with Alcami allows us to accelerate our growth ambitions while staying true to what has made Tjoapack successful. Together, we create a more integrated transatlantic platform that enables us to support our partners more effectively.”
Alcami’s acquisition of Tjoapack is expected to close later in the second quarter of 2026.
